I am happy to report that it’s possible to get some sleep with twins that are 3 months old!
One of the best gifts we received when I was pregnant is a book called “Twelve Hours Sleep by Twelve Weeks Old” by Suzy Giordano. This has been validated in a couple of ways. One – Sean was very proactive in learning as much as he could about being a twin dad and listened to quite a few twin dad podcasts. This particular book was mentioned a couple of times as being extremely helpful when it comes to getting babies to sleep. Two – Leona is currently sleeping through the night and Quincy only has one feeding (that we’re hoping she weans off of in the next couple of weeks). Yes, we know that there is a strong possibility that this is temporary, however, this book also gives great advice for getting through those developmental milestones where sleep is often disturbed.
One of my favorite things about this book is that the author is also a mom of twins. This was a relief because much of the advice given keeps twins and higher order multiples in mind (not always the case for about, I don’t know, 98% of the baby books out there). The strategies are different with multiples so I needed a little extra help in figuring out how to tackle this hugely important part of the day. Needless to say, it’s working. Fingers crossed we can maintain this small slice of heaven.
Just wanted to share this book and our success with it in case anyone is looking for a little help with their little one and some zzz’s.
So glad it helped!
